Annual Appreciation Day 2024: Celebrating excellence, inspiring futures

Annual Appreciation Day is one of the most significant events for any school, offering a platform to recognise the hard work, dedication, and achievements of students and staff alike. It celebrates the school’s journey, strengthens school pride, and fosters a sense of unity among the community.

At Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, the Annual Appreciation Day 2024 was held with great enthusiasm, reflecting the school’s unwavering commitment to academic and co-curricular excellence. The event, themed Pankh… A New Flight, resonated with creativity, achievement, and cultural vibrancy, showcasing the holistic development of the students.

The  Chief Guest, Dr Girish Bali, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax, graced the occasion with his presence, along with Dr Kusum Bali, HoD of the Medicine Department at PIMS, Jalandhar, and Mr Nirmal Mahajan, a Member of the Board of Governors, Apeejay Education, New Delhi. Their presence added grandeur to the event. The celebrations began with a warm floral welcome for the Chief Guest, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, a gesture that invoked blessings for an auspicious start. The soulful Shiv Stuti performance further enhanced the sanctity of the occasion.

Dr Bali’s address was one of the event’s highlights, where he spoke about the need to balance the usage of mobile phones and social media, urging students to remain grounded in their values.

 

A video tribute to Dr Stya Paul, Founder-Chairman , Apeejay Stya Group & Apeejay Education, along with his daughter, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education, celebrated her legacy and contributions to education, further inspiring the audience. Dr Neha Berlia, Co-Promoter of Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, addressed the gathering virtually, sharing her progressive vision for the future.

“It is a pleasure to connect with you all on this special occasion of the Annual Appreciation Day at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar. A warm welcome to our distinguished Chief Guest, Dr. Girish Bali, IRS. At present,  serving as Commissioner of Income Tax, NOIDA, he is a proud Jalandhar native and an Apeejay parent.

“The theme of today’s celebration, “Pankh: A New Flight,” symbolises our commitment to empowering students to soar high. Apeejay Education, with its 50+ years of legacy, emphasizes holistic and value-based education aligned with NEP 2020. We nurture our students’ physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth, fostering Indian values and global competence through emerging technologies like AI and IoT.

With 26 institutions, including Apeejay Stya University, serving over 40,000 students, we are proud of the commendable achievements of our students and teachers in academics, extracurriculars, and community outreach. To those receiving awards today, congratulations! To others, remember to persevere toward your dreams. My heartfelt gratitude to parents for their unwavering support, the  Principal of the school, Mr. A.K. Sharma, and the dedicated staff for organising this inspiring event. I would like to conclude with Swami Vivekananda’s words: “Arise, awake, and rest not till the goal is achieved.”  Dr Neha Berlia said.

Mr AK Sharma, the Principal of the school presented the School’s Annual Report, highlighting the academic accomplishments, co-curricular excellence, and the remarkable strides it has taken in its journey towards excellence. Students captivated the audience with a musical melody, फरहत – ए – फ़ासिला, showcasing their artistic talents.

The prize distribution ceremony was a special moment, recognising the outstanding  achievements of students across academics, sports, and cultural activities. These winners exemplified the school’s motto, Soaring High is My Nature.

 

The event reached its peak with the stunning performance of Pankh… A New Flight, a musical drama that showcased the inspiring journey of a girl aspiring to be an astronaut despite the odds. The performance, full of dance, drama, and music, left the audience mesmerised. The celebration continued with a vibrant Bhangra performance, electrifying the auditorium.

The event concluded with the National Anthem, promoting a sense of unity and patriotism, while Ms Aarti Shorey Bhat, the Vice-principal of the school expressed heartfelt gratitude, making the day truly memorable. Through this event, Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to nurturing talent, values, and holistic growth.
