Tata Punch: Safer Choice

 

The Punch is the safest micro SUV on sale in the Indian market. This sub-compact SUV cars received an impressive Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) safety rating of 5-star for adult occupants and 4-star for child occupancy.

The micro SUV comes fitted with dual front airbags as standard, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD with Brake Sway Control, rear parking sensors and others. It also gets automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, front fog lamps and rear defogger.

 

Tata Punch: Interior Features

 

The new Punch micro SUV shares the cabin layout with the Altroz hatchback. It is packed with a 7-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The micro SUV comes fitted with cooled glovebox, automatic air conditioning, puddle lamps, cruise control, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors, roof rails, button start, reverse camera, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers and others.

 

The micro SUV comes equipped with an electric car sunroof with voice assistant. It comes with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, a six-speaker sound system and others.

 

Tata Punch: Power and Performance

 

This small SUV is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the Altroz hatchback. Called Revotron, this petrol engine is capable of producing 87bhp of power and 115Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) unit. In the CNG mode, the power and torque output drop to 72bhp and 103Nm respectively. The CNG cars is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The manual petrol car variant is claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 20.09kmpl, while its AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) variant delivers 18.8kmpl. On the flip side, the manual CNG variant is claimed to offer an impressive mileage of 27km/kg.

 

Dimensions

 

Measuring just 3.8 meters in length, the new Tata Punch micro SUV is ideally suited for urban environments. Thanks to the compact size, the Tata Punch is easier to park in tight spots and easy to drive through busy city streets. Dimensionally, the Punch is 3827mm long, 1742mm wide and 1615mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2445mm.The small SUV also has a ground clearance of 187mm, which makes it easier to tackle bad Indian roads. The Punch offers a generous boot space of 366-litres, which is good enough to carry 2 big suitcases along with your daily bags.
