Located at an altitude of 3300 meters above sea level, the Badrinath temple is one of the most famous pilgrimage spots in India. It is believed that this is a place where lord Vishnu meditated for many years and Maa Laxmi stood in the form of a Badri tree to protect him from the adverse climate hence this place got its name as Badrinath ( Husband of Badri) or Badrivishal.

This temple is located in the scenic and majestic Himalayan ranges of the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. This is the only temple in India that is a part of both Chota Char Dham Yatra which includes a visit to Yamunotri temple, Gangotri temple, and Kedarnath temple and Bada do Dham Yatra which includes the visit to Dwarka, Rameshwaram and Puri temples. In these two incarnations, Nara embodied the human aspect of this divine mission, Narayana represented the godly essence, creating a perfect balance between the mortal and the immortal. To complete their work of dharma, they had chosen the valley of Badrinath and performed the penance here. They meditate deeply, focusing their minds entirely on the Supreme Being, seeking to merge their consciousness with the divine. 1 Tapt Kund: Tapt Kund is a natural hot spring situated near Badrinath temple It is believed that before Badrinath darshan people took baths here and this is a source of healing properties they get rid of their sin by taking a dip in this kund 

2 Mana village: Mana Village is the first village in India located 3 kilometers before the Badrinath it is believed that Ved Vyas wrote a Mahabharata in this place with the lord Ganesha and also as per Hindu mythology it is said that Pandavas visit this village from their way of heaven 

3 Charan Paduka: Charan Paduka is a rock and it is believed that this is the footprint of lord Vishnu it’s 3 kilometers above the Badrinath this charan Paduka is considered a shrine and every year lakhs of pilgrimage visit this place and worship here this place offer a stunning view of mountains

 

The best time to visit Badrinath temple 

Badrinath is a sacred pilgrimage place in Uttarakhand and this place is dedicated to lord Vishnu  every year lakhs of pilgrimage come for the Badrinath temple visit this temple remains open and closed for 6 months in a year if I talk about the best time to visit Badrinath temple is May to October this temple remains close for six months in a year because of heavy snowfall and if I talk about the weather in Badrinath is unpredictable

The facade of this temple is beautifully decorated by using three colors which are Red, Blue, and Yellow in which Red symbolizes strength, blue is divinity and yellow represents the purity of this temple. In the sanctum of this temple, a beautiful idol built by black saligram rock was built depicting lord Vishnu in a meditative pose. 

Importance of Tapt Kund

As per the legend, it is believed that the hot water spring was built by lord Vishnu himself to provide relief to his devotees from the chilling cold. It is believed that the Tapt kund is the abode of Agni Dev ( god of fire). It is said that by taking a bath in this tapt kund, purification of the soul takes place preparing us to have darshan of lord Vishnu.
