The series “Dead Land Sinkholes” was taken on the shores of the Dead Sea, where many sinkholes are created almost every day. The area is very dangerous, There are thousands of small and big holes and cracks in the ground, sometimes filled with water and colored minerals, or
just empty and deep… it’s all happening as a result of drying the sea of water
!!! we are destroying nature and living disasters for the next generations
The Dead Sea has lost a third of its surface area since 1960, receding by about a meter every year. There are now thousands of big and small sinkholes all around the north shores of the Dead Sea. I took this series with a drone using the first rays of the morning’s light to announce the strong shapes and rich shades of gray creating these
sad but powerful abstract “paintings” of nature
.I tried to show the drama and beauty of this amazing but sad natural phenomenon
.Each time I’m shooting those sinkholes, I feel the power and sadness of Mother Earth
There is a strange and mysterious excitement I can feel every time I visit this dangerous and scary eria. my imagination goes wild when I point the camera above Those amazing sinkholes which sometimes look like a scene from a different planet, but always remind me of the unforgiven damage we are making to our plane.
you can find some examples of my work here on this website. i think this eria is an amazing spot for landscape photographers. the best way to do it is from the air with a drone!
