Hamari Pahchan is a non-profit organization based in Delhi, focused on improving society. It was founded in 2015 by Tarun Mathur, an international chess player and a government officer at Air India. He has over ten years of experience in the aviation industry and is the driving force behind the NGO.
The NGO was created in response to the tragic ‘Nirbhaya case’ of 2012, which shocked the entire nation. This event inspired Tarun Mathur to start the “Save Delhi, Brave Delhi” campaign, installing CCTV cameras around Delhi in collaboration with the state government to ensure people’s safety. This campaign led to the founding of Hamari Pahchan.
Hamari Pahchan helps underprivileged people get opportunities in various fields. The NGO focuses on areas like child education, menstrual hygiene, unemployment, hunger, and more.
Key projects by Hamari Pahchan include:
-Drishti Project: Focuses on child education.
-Sukhad Project: Promotes menstrual hygiene awareness.
-Skill Development: Provides job opportunities to those in need.
-Support the elderly.
Eradicating Malnutrition.
The NGO helps all people, regardless of age or gender, providing a platform for everyone to build their future.
One major issue the NGO tackles is malnutrition, which is a big problem in India, especially for children and women. According to the Global Nutrition Report 2020, India has the most malnourished children in the world. It reports that 37.9% of Indian children under five years old are too short for their age, 20.8% are too thin for their height, and 34.7% are underweight. Malnutrition is worse among children from poor communities, rural areas, and lower castes and tribes.
India has 46.6 million stunted children, a third of the world’s total, as reported in 2018. Almost half of all deaths in children under five are due to undernutrition, which also makes them more susceptible to infections and delays recovery.
Malnutrition also affects women, especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The National Family Health Survey (NFHS) 5 (2019-2020) found that 17.3% of women in India are underweight, and 22.9% of women aged 15-49 are undernourished.
Solving malnutrition in India requires a combined effort to improve access to healthcare, clean drinking water, sanitation, promote breastfeeding, and ensure food security and nutrition education.
Hamari Pahchan NGO is working tirelessly towards this cause and aims to completely eradicate hunger. Now it’s your turn to support this esteemed mission consider giving your assistance to it financially
