I read Copy Slacker, a Copywriting book by Ben Settle, and I found a quote from an A-list Copywriter worth mentioning here
It reads:
=======
“ Copywriting is not about building a bridge from your product to your market, it’s about building a bridge from your market to your product “
=======
Let me dumb it down a little….
It’s about finding out what your target audience wants and showing them where to get what they want through your copy.
It’s about empathising with your target audience, understanding their pains, problems and desires and building a bridge ( sales copy, email copy etc) to get to their desired destination ( offer that helps them get what they want)
And finding out all there is to know about your target audience comes from doing market research the right way
Not what some copywriter’s do, relying on AI and guess marketing when doing market research
Something each and every copywriter should do before writing any copy is to do market research the right way
Like talking with the target audience about their pains, problems, desires and challenges.
You then use that data to bridge them over, through your copy, to your product
Anyways, I cover the type of questions to ask about your target audience in the first chapter of my book, “Email Copywriting Assassin ”.
As well as other ways you can write emails that get opened read and bought from
