Minnesota e-bike rebate application reopening tuesday following first launch troubles:E-Bikes promote cleaner air , Equity and Promote Health

The Minnesota e bike rebate application period is slated to reopen Tuesday this time with safeguards in place to control high demand.

When the application period start launched in early June technical forced officials to bring the entire system offline.

The state external vendors could not help rise in users looking to apply for rebate.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue and Minnesota IT Services revealed that those interested in rebate can apply starting at 11 am on Tuesday.

Who is eligible for the e-bike rebate?

A person must be 15 years old. They have to have lived in Minnesota for current year and past year and must not have been claimed a dependent in 2023.

How much is the e-bike rebate worth?

The rebate is 50-75% of cost of an e-bike and qualifying accessories up to maximum of $1500. Rebates will be issued on first come first served basis.

Total rebates are limited to $2 million a year in 2024 and 2025. The rebate is determined by applicant 2023 income.

What will be different about the reopened application process?

The reopened application process will feature a waiting room to control the rise of users.

About 10,000 submissions will be accepted. So they expect the application window to be brief.
