Narayanpur Fort, Latehar District of Jharkhand State

Narayanpur Fort- This fort is situated on a small hill in Thakurpara near Naigadh village, 11 km away from Latehar district headquarters. It was built in the 16th century by Judge Das, the accountant of Chervonish ruler Bhagwat Rai.

Navagarh Fort/Narayanpur Fort:- This fort is situated on a small hill in Thakurpara near Navagadh village, 11 km away from Latehar district headquarters. It was built in the sixteenth century by Judge Das, the accountant of Chervonish ruler Bhagwat Rai.

It is related to the fort of Palamu. It is also known as Navard Fort. It is situated on a hill at a distance of about 5 km from Latehar station. The entire fort is spread over 1 acre of land. Brick has been used in the construction of this fort. Stone has also been used. Tourists are not seen here. Sometimes people come here.

It was built in the 16th century by Chiro King Bhagwat Rai’s treasurer Jarj Das. It is believed that this fort was built as a completely secret fort. Some people believed that this fort was used as a tax collection centre.
