YOUTH OF PAKISTAN

The failing economy of Pakistan will be the reason that will result in a country with no youth, due to issues like limited job market, political unrest, safety issues, limited opportunities for professional advancement with the underdeveloped infrastructure, healthcare, and education system of our country. According to the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment over 800,000 Pakistanis migrated in 2022, with a significant portion being young professionals. A 2021 survey by Gallup Pakistan revealed that 62% of young people express a desire to work abroad. Main destinations include the Gulf States, Germany , USA, and Canada, offering higher salaries and better living standards. This trend results in a brain drain impacting Pakistan’s skilled workforce. The government needs to create more opportunities and improve living conditions to retain young talent and ensure the country’s sustainable development. This migration results in a significant brain drain negatively affecting Pakistan’s skilled workforce. Young professionals leaving the country mean fewer experts and innovators to drive local industries and services, hindering the nation’s progress. To counteract this the government needs to take urgent action. Creating more job opportunities, enhancing the quality of education and improving the overall living conditions are crucial steps. Addressing these areas will help retain young talent and ensure sustainable development for Pakistan preventing the potential future scenario of a nation devoid of its youthful and dynamic population.
