Manitoba invited 348 candidates under two MPNP streams

Manitoba held its latest invitation round under the MPNP streams on September 27, 2024. MPNP issued 348 invitations to skilled workers and international graduates in its latest round to two major streams, which showed the province was consistently attracting global talent.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) Invitation Breakdown

Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) Stream:

Manitoba issued 79 Letters of Advice to Apply for the Skilled Workers Overseas category. The applicants were from the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which focuses on skilled professionals abroad who are in high demand in specific key roles in Manitoba’s emerging industries. This category had a minimum requirement of 582 points. This was also the lowest point shift from the last round, which bodes well for international applicants hoping to get invited.

International Education Stream:

Under the International Education Stream, a very large number of invites, 269 in total were issued to keep graduates of Manitoba’s post-secondary institutions. These are the people who have the abilities, training, and in-province experience required to integrate well into Manitoba’s workforce.

Express Entry Candidates Benefit

It is worth noting that this round also issued 56 invitations to Express Entry candidates. These candidates take advantage of a faster processing time compared to processing through Express Entry and must possess the skills to contribute to the Canadian labor market.

2024 Invitations Through MPNP Streams:

As of date in this round, Manitoba has issued 6,394 invitations in 2024 with 931 of these going to Express Entry candidates- a testament to continued commitment and dedication by the province to welcome skilled workers and students, helping to deliver towards its labor market needs in support of long-term economic growth.

How to Apply for the MPNP streams?

Candidates who would wish to follow on with the MPNP application are advised to identify whether they have qualifying conditions in a selected stream of interest. Primary eligibility aspects include:

  • This includes relevant work experience or education that may be considered a match with the demand in the Manitoba labor market.
  • Demonstrated intent to live in Manitoba.
  • Good competence in either English or French as the language of instruction.

The creation and constant updating of candidates’ profiles in the Express Entry pool are important because the MPNP selects individuals from the federal pool based on Manitoba’s needs.

What if You Didn’t Get Invited?

That is not the end of the road for you if you did not receive the invitation during the last round, and your MPNP profile will remain in the pool for up to 12 months after the submission date. You could receive an invitation in subsequent rounds if the score is on the selection list. Do not withdraw your application because you may be next in line for the Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA).
