Some might say “The military is a place for those in society who are unable to adapt or perform”. Or even roughly said, “Those who do serve, do not have other many alternatives”.
I for one do not believe in this premise.
I too was a soldier.
Through the fortunate grace of God, I was not called to war during my active duty period. I often sit and wonder what would have possibly happened to me or how my life might have been changed if it had been otherwise. One thing is for sure if I had been… I too would have been proud to serve my country, its ideals, and the cause of freedom.
